Rafting the Nile

Ripped from the raft, thrown into the air, and submerged under roaring white water until you cannot stand it any longer…this wraps up our Nile River rafting trip. Saturday, Annie, Mom, Dad, and I took on what many people consider the most difficult rapids in the world. Class five rapids are the most difficult rapids that can be rafted and survived. We paddled into the center of every rapid, and only flipped four times. To say the least it was a full day of heart pounding adventure.

Hi Annie and Brad! My name is Katie Armstrong. Ya'll don't know me but I heard about ya'll through Emilee Aurigema, Annie your Young Life kid of course and a fellow leader of mine at Carson-Newman where we go to school, and through my sister Laura Armstrong who is a YL leader at USC. Well, ya'll could be a huge answer to my prayers!! I am traveling to Uganda this summer with 3 of my friends. We will be working in a baby cottage in Jinga for a month and we are also looking for an orphanage to work at in Kampala. This may be where ya'll can help us! Do you know of a place that needs some help? We're really up for anything. We will be in Kampala from June 14-July 10. Let me know if you know of any options for us! I would love to meet yall and see what life is like for yall in Kampala! This is very exciting!! My email address is kta2004@yahoo.com. Thanks!!

Four times, huh? we must be better rafters -- we only flipped once ;) Wish I could've rafted it with you, but I will again one day. Next time I think I'll walk around "the bad place", though. I only need my life to flash in front of my eyes once.
